Luxor Temple tickets and prices in 2026
The entrance fee for Luxor Temple depends on who you are. A foreign adult pays EGP 500, a foreign student EGP 250. The temple is open every day. You can buy a ticket at the entrance or online. Tickets for guided tours are a separate matter: a tour price may or may not include the entrance fee, so read the description before you book.
The table below shows the single-ticket prices. The Luxor Pass, which covers several sites over 5 days, is explained further down this page.

Luxor Pass: what it covers
Conditions as of 2026. Check the current terms before you buy.
| Pass | Adult | Student | Includes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Luxor Standard | USD 130 or EUR 120 | USD 70 or EUR 60 | 5 days; the tombs of Nefertari and Seti I are not included |
| Luxor Premium | USD 250 or EUR 220 | USD 130 or EUR 120 | 5 days; includes Nefertari and Seti I |
The pass includes Luxor Temple and the two Luxor museums. You buy it in person at Karnak or the Valley of the Kings, and you pay in cash in US dollars or euros. It is not sold online. A copy of your passport and a passport photo are required, and the student price applies to students under 30. A pass is not a promise that every tomb is open: the tomb of Nefertari, for example, may be closed for restoration, so check its current status before you buy.
To decide, add up the single tickets you really plan to use. Luxor Temple costs EGP 500, Karnak EGP 600, the Luxor Museum EGP 400 and the Mummification Museum EGP 220 for a foreign adult. For most visitors who stay on the East Bank for a day or two, single tickets are simpler. The pass makes sense mainly for travellers who plan many sites over five days. You can read about the sights across the river at the Valley of the Kings and at Karnak.
Tickets for the Avenue of Sphinxes
Plan on the two temple tickets.
To visit the Avenue of Sphinxes together with both temples, plan on the Karnak ticket and the Luxor Temple ticket. A single temple ticket does not open the whole route, so check where the entrance gates are and what you need on the day before you go.
Luxor Temple tickets: frequently asked questions
How much is the Luxor Temple entrance fee for tourists?
A foreign adult pays EGP 500 in 2026, and a foreign student pays EGP 250. These are single-ticket prices for the temple only, without a guide or transport.
What are the Luxor Temple opening hours?
The temple is open daily from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., and the last entry is at 7 p.m. The same last entry applies in summer, winter and Ramadan.
Do I need to book a ticket in advance?
Tickets are sold at the entrance and online. A guided tour needs a booking for a set date, so if you join one, check whether the entrance fee is included in the price.
Can I pay cash at the ticket office?
Plan to pay by card. Bring a Visa or Mastercard bank card, since cash may not be accepted at the major Luxor sites. Keep some cash for small purchases around the temple.
Is a ticket for Karnak also valid for Luxor Temple?
No. Karnak has its own ticket at EGP 600 for a foreign adult, and Luxor Temple has one at EGP 500. They are separate admissions, unless you hold a Luxor Pass that lists both.
Is the Luxor Pass worth buying?
It depends on your plan. Add up the single tickets for the sites you will really visit and compare. The pass does not guarantee that every tomb is open, so it is not a reason to travel by itself.
